The British Film Institute required an engaging folded brochure for their upcoming season of films based around La Nouvelle Vague. The challenge was to create a flyer that would be inviting to pick up in a saturated market, appealing to BFI members. This concept would then be rolled out into additional promotion items for the event
This new genre in French film was seen as radical and edgy in the 1950's and 60's, due to the use of a single often portable camera and experiment editing techniques. I carried these themes through into my design by creating a fold that was inspired by the idea of a single aperture along with the used of bold typography and a colour palette that was inspired by the era.
